Little Miss A is about as cute as they come! She has beautiful blue eyes, dark hair and olive skin tones.....daddy better get his shotgun ready now! 'Cause he's in trouble later!!!! Miss A is full of personality too! My son came along to help out this morning and enjoyed making her smile. When she smiles, her whole face lights up. You can tell she is her Mommy's little angel, because nobody could light that face up better than a glimpse of Mommy!!!! Just wanted to post these beautiful portraits real quick...just to tease Brittany a little! These shots are absolutely stunning. This girl is flawless! She is one of my favorite people. I love working with Brittany, because she is a go-getter, has great people skills, a professional attitude and does what it takes to get the job done. These are just a few of the traits that helped Brittany become part of the 2009 Graduating Class of the University of Florida. Personally, I am keeping my fingers crossed that Brittany doesn't leave us here in Gainesville because we would all miss her so much. But should she decide to spread her wings, we wish her all the best for her future endeavors. Congratulations Brittany.... enjoy this little sneak peek...there are many more to come!

Hope everyone is outside enjoying this beautiful weather! Here are a few beautiful little ones that I thought everyone would enjoy seeing this Monday morning after a long weekend (especially you Sally :) ) This little guy is such a ham! He has the best personality and loves the lake! I predict he will be out fishing with "Papa Moose" before long!

I met this beautiful young lady a few weeks ago by chance. I think it was something of fate that landed my card on her Mom's desk when it did. Miss Breanna is competing in the Miss Teen Jacksonville Pageant. I met with her for a very brief session to get some quick shots because she needed a headshot for the competition. I just wanted to take a moment to wish Breanna luck this weekend and tell her that I think she is an outstanding girl. Breanna has overcome leaps and bounds in her life and takes it all in stride. She is a high achieving student with wonderful grades, an athlete and loving daughter. She is a winner in my book! I am sure we will be seeing more of this beauty.

She's my Miss Teen :)

While the Adamyk family await the delivery of their sweet baby boy, they are faced with the knowledge that little Caleb will only be with us for a short while. Caleb was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 (see www.trisomy18.org for more information) Most Trisomy babies are preterm, however, little Caleb has proven to be a fighter and has made it to full-term. We are awaiting his arrival any day now. I met this lovely family through the Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation (www.NILMDTS.org) and organization that I am an Affiliated Photographer with that offer free early infant loss and bereavement photography to help grieving parents. The Adamyk Family wanted me to share their story to help educate and spread the word about both Trisomy 18 &
NILMDTS.

If you know someone who could use the services of NILMDTS, please refer them to my blog or to the foundations website. It does make a difference.

I just wanted to let everyone know that there is going to be a lot of BIG BIG BIG things happening in 2009 for Wendy Donaldson Photography. I am excited and can't wait to ring in the New Year to get it all started. I thought I would give you guys a heads up on some of the things coming your way!

Genuine Kindness

This year has had many ups and downs for me personally and professionally. From time to time something happens that makes you sit back and think WOW. That happened to me this morning.

I am always looking for unique things that ad a special umph to a photo. Things like tutus, petticoats, hats, bows, etc. A few months ago I came across this site ( http://www.clips4acure.com
when searching for some special items. I fell in love with the hats and headbands on this site and scoured it to find out what it is all about. Sheridan Savio is the creator of this company, a 13 year cancer survivor and single mom of two little girls. She wants to raise awareness and help to find a cure for cancer. To me this shows an amazing quality. As a single mom myself, I know how difficult it is to find the time and energy to give back. It is a conscious decision you have to make every day. Sheridan gives back by donating 10% of sales from her site to the American Cancer Society & Susan G. Komen Foundation.

I won't elaborate on the personal email I received from Sheridan this morning, let's just say that it caught me off guard and I was floored with her generosity, as if I wasn't already impressed with her as a person.

So I am taking this time to thank Sheridan for all that she does to give back. She does it in so many ways beyond just raising money for cancer research. When you meet someone like Sheridan, it inspires you to be a better person yourself.

I had the pleasure of shooting maternity pictures for this beautiful lady. This will be baby #3 and she is 39 weeks and counting. She is absolutely stunning and so much fun to talk with, I laughed the entire time! Did I mention that her husband is hilarious too! They are such a cute couple and their other two children are just as goregeous as Mom, so no doubt that when this little guy gets here he will be a cutie too! Ok, so some of you may be wondering if I disappeared or wondered off, but nope, I am still here. I have been really busy lately, which is a good thing. I have been working on SFHS Basketball Program photos, following Santa around and taking his picture with the kids on the "Nice" list, working on my new website. (Which I have to admit, I have no clue what I am doing) My goal is to have my website up and running by 1/1/09, so stay tunned! Oh, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

With the Month of October being recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, The Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation holds its Annual Fund Drive for six weeks starting in mid-September and ending in October.

President Ronald Reagan enacted Proclamation 5890 in October of 1988 to recognize that each year, approximately a million pregnancies in the United States alone end in miscarriage, stillbirth, or the death of a newborn child. Reagan stated, "A national observance offers us the opportunity to increase our understanding of the great tragedy involved in the deaths of unborn or newborn babies. It also enables us to consider how, as individuals and communities, we can meet the needs of bereaved parents and family members... "

If you are in a place to make even a small contribution to NILMDTS, please know that doing so will continue to allow the organization to provide improved resources, training, communication, and other tools necessary in support of our amazing contingent of professional photographers who provide the gift of free remembrance portraiture to families in need.

Our next project we are working on is an online, interactive webinar version of our Formal NILMDTS Training taught by Co-Founder Sandy Puc' allowing anyone in any country with access to a computer to complete the course online. Ok, so tomorrow is a big day. I am headed out to my Uncle's lake house to try out the scenery out there. I am hoping that it is a beautiful day. You never know especially with Hanna on one side and Gustav on the other how our weather will turn out. I am going to do pics of my kids, try out some new ideas and see how it turns out.
